?
1. First, start wrapping the power cord in foam wrap and use duct tape to tighten it up.
2. If possible, take apart the TV leg stand and use bubble wrap to protect it from scratches and damages.
3. Place a layer of foam wrap on the TV screen and go on by wrapping the entire TV in bubble wrap. One layer is sufficient but for extra protection, you can wrap it two times. Secure the wrapping with duct tape.
If it’s impossible for you to find bubble wrap, you can use a thick moving blanket and secure it with duct tape.
4. Set up the box and cushion the walls with one layer of foam padding or polystyrene sheets. For a snug fit, polystyrene sheets are a better alternative.
5. Slide the TV inside and place the accessories next to it, but not on the side of the screen.
6. Fill the empty-spaced with packing peanuts or crumpled paper. Don’t overuse them because they will cause pressure during the transportation.
7. Close the box and seal it properly with duct tape. Cover all the corners.
8. Label the box. You can also add a “Fragile” sign. However, have in mind that such a signage cannot guarantee that a package will be treated as such and should not substitute a good packaging.

Putting everything together:
Choosing the right cardboard boxes – given the fact that TVs have different dimensions and shapes, it might be hard to find a proper box. However, if you cannot get a customized box and you are lucky enough to get a spare one might at the local market, you should make sure that the one you will find is sturdy enough to support its weight.

Choosing the

packaging materials

You can always find replacements for the materials mentioned above. For example, you can use the old paper you have in the house to fill in space in the box or textiles materials to wrap the TV.

Things to remember before

shipping a TV

:
1. Make sure the TV doesn’t move inside the box – try to share gently the box to see if the TV is securely packed.
2. Remove any old labels – if the box is not new, make sure you remove any old labels and signages that might confuse the courier driver.
3. Measure the box accurately – you need to make sure you provide the exact dimensions and weight of the box. The final price of the shipping is set based on these parameters. In this way, you will avoid extra charges later down the shipping process.
4. Place the order sooner than later – if you are moving out the apartment, it is important to leave at least 1 working date between the collection date and your departure. This will ensure that if anything goes wrong, the courier company will have enough time to solve the situation.
